Slide 36 - Lymphoid Tissue.  Your slide is spleen; it has a stroma of reticular tissue.  The network of fine reticular fibers has been specifically stained black with silver, but this kind of stain can be capricious, so you’ll have to hunt for good areas.  Scan for a place where the black network is clearest; in the spleen this is likely to be around the edge of the ball-like clusters of purple lymphocytes; NOTE:  The heavy, dense deposits of silver you may see in your section occur when reticular fibers surround blood vessels or are intermingled with bundles of thick collagen fibers.
